Michigan Football Bowl Projections: Odds For Wolverines’ 2024-25 Bowl Game

Fact Checked by Jim Tomlin

Last season’s national championship for the Michigan Wolverines, the first in Ann Arbor since 1997, brings grand expectations for fans and for Michigan sports betting. First-time head coach Sherrone Moore, who was Jim Harbaugh’s hand-picked heir apparent, takes over inside the Big House for the 2024 season.

Harbaugh departed to coach the NFL’s Los Angeles Chargers, leaving Michigan on the highest of high notes. The Wolverines went 15-0 and routed Washington in the CFP title game, 34-13, to capture the school’s 12th national title in January.

2024 Michigan Football Preview

Now Moore, the program’s former offensive coordinator and offensive line coach, looks to keep up with his predecessor’s .781 winning percentage in Ann Arbor.

This year, oddsmakers at DraftKings Sportsbook Michigan give UM +2500 title odds, tied with Notre Dame for 10th nationally. In the expanded 18-team Big Ten, the Wolverines have the fourth-shortest title odds at +600. The league has added UCLA, Southern California, Oregon and Washington this season, helping lead to the demise of the Pac-12.

Moore and Michigan kick off their first full season together on Aug. 31 at the Big House against Fresno State, before closing out the non-conference slate with two more home games against Texas (Sept. 7) and Arkansas State (Sept. 14).

All year long, BetMichigan.com – which offers the best Michigan sportsbook promo codes – will update the Wolverines’ bowl game odds. This week’s inaugural edition forecasts grand things for Moore in his first full season as head coach in Ann Arbor.

Since 2019, the Wolverines have made a bowl game in each of the non-COVID seasons and qualified for the four-team CFP in 2021, 2022 and 2023. They lost to Georgia (34-11 in 2021) and TCU (51-45 in 2022) before breaking through last season.

The 2019 Citrus Bowl was Michigan’s last non-CFP bowl game, one which the Wolverines lost 35-16 to Alabama to cap a 9-4 campaign.

This year, Moore and company will look to pick up where last year’s squad left off, potentially opening the door to join Georgia (2021-22) as the only repeat champions of the CFP.
