Detroit Lions Betting Guide for 2024: Schedule, Games & More

Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell celebrates with Amon-Ra St Brown

The Detroit Lions had a historic season last year, making a run to the NFC Championship for the first time in over 30 years. Now, they're looking to build on it in 2024-25 as one of the NFL's best teams according to Michigan online sportsbooks

The Lions' leadership is headlined by head coach Dan Campbell & GM Brad Holmes, the league's most exciting coach and manager duo. Not only did they take the franchise to new heights, but they did it sustainably.

Entering the regular season, Detroit has the second-highest cap space at just over $38 million. That's after extending the rookie contracts of All-Pro WR Amon-Ra St. Brown & OT Penei Sewell. On top of that, they signed QB Jared Goff to a four-year, $212 million contract. All of that to complement the best running back duo in the NFL, Jahmyr Gibbs & David Montgomery, behind its best offensive line.

While the offense has virtually zero questions, the defense was filled with them entering free agency. After finishing with a bottom-five pass defense and a top-five rush defense, the Lions focused on rehabbing their secondary in the offseason.

After trading for CB Carlton Davis II & signing CB Amik Robertson, Holmes drafted two SEC corners – Terrion Arnold & Ennis Rakestraw – in the first two rounds.

Combine the secondary's improvement with superstar edge defender Aidan Hutchinson getting some much-needed help from veteran DT D.J. Reader, it's "Super Bowl or bust" this season for the Lions – seriously, Dan Campbell said that.
