Shorter Month Not an Obstacle for Operators
Fact Checked by Pat McLoone

Despite having three fewer days, February proved to be a good month for Michigan online casino operators.

The state’s licensed iGaming apps generated $169.2 million in adjusted revenue for the month, a 3.1% increase from the $164.2 million they earned in January.

Michigan received $33.8 million in iGaming taxes for the month, up 12.8% from January.

BetMGM Michigan, the online partner of MGM Grand Detroit, was the top-grossing iGaming app, earning $45.2 million in adjusted gross gaming revenue for the month.

FanDuel Michigan, which partners with MotorCity Casino, finished second with an adjusted gross revenue total of $43.6 million. Both operators reported month-to-month increases, with FanDuel’s earnings up 13% compared to BetMGM’s 4%.

Successful Feb. for Retail Casinos

The increases weren’t just limited to online operators, either. Michigan’s three commercial casinos, all located in Detroit, reported total revenues of $104.8 million for February, up almost $11 million (or 11.6%) from January. Tax revenue also went up by an identical margin, with the state receiving $8.5 million and Detroit taking $12.5 million.
