In Michigan, It’s the Williams Sisters
While California has 33% (289.6K) of the most famous American women in sports, Michigan takes the crown with the iconic sisters - Serena and Venus Williams. Their combined search volume is a whopping 569K (13%). The sisters were dominant for so long, it is odd to see them not among the favorites for Grand Slam tournaments at Michigan sports betting apps.
California’s contingent included: Michelle Akers and Alex Morgan (soccer), Billie Jean King (tennis) and Lisa Leslie and Diana Taurasi (basketball).
Back to Michigan’s finest, the Williams sisters combined for a remarkable 122 singles titles: Serena (73), Venus (49).
Head-to-head they met 31 times with Serena holding a 19-12 edge. While playing in doubles tournaments together, they won 22 titles, highlighted by 14 majors and three Olympic gold medals.
Individually, Serena captured 23 Grand Slam individual titles (seven Australian Open, three French Open, seven Wimbledon and six U.S. Open) and is the only player to complete a career Grand Slam in both singles and doubles (Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon and U.S. Open).
Venus won two Australian, one French Open, five Wimbledon and two U.S. Open titles.
These days, the top two names in odds for Wimbledon at BetMGM Sportsbook Michigan are Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus and Iga Swiatek of Poland.
The remaining athletes inside the ranking (all at 6.6%) were:
