Best Tailgating In The NFC North: Where Do The Detroit Lions Rank?
Fact Checked by Jim Tomlin

Few regions of America take their game day tailgating as seriously as the Midwest, so competition to be named the top destination for parking lot revelry in the NFC North is tight.

For the Detroit Lions, the franchise’s on-field success is at historic levels right now compared to recent decades. Last season, the franchise earned its first division title since 1991. Heading into the 2024-25 NFL season, Detroit holds the fourth-best Super Bowl odds on BetMGM Sportsbook Michigan at +1200.

At BetMichigan.com, we wanted to see which teams have the best NFL tailgating in preparation for the 2024 NFL season. Where Lions Rank in NFC North

Of the four hard-partying NFC North fanbases, Detroit’s faithful punched their way to the top of NFL tailgating in 2024, a win for the home of Michigan sportsbooks. Motown’s total score of 199 points knocked off the wild and wonderful faithful in Minnesota.

The Vikings were second in our calculations with 188 points, while the beer-and-brats fueled Packer Backers led Green Bay to third place in the division with 184 points. The Chicago Bears (178) were last, with the Windy City’s NFL franchise being penalized for lackluster results on the field, mixed with a mediocre gameday vibe at Soldier Field each fall.

All of those ingredients contributed to the recipe that allowed the Lions to surge to the top spot in the NFC North in our tailgating metrics. Fans throughout the Great Lakes state and Michigan sports betting apps customers can boast of last year’s division title and high expectations for a repeat on the gridiron this fall, a year after Dan Campbell led the club to a 12-5 finish inside Ford Field.

The team at Caesars Michigan Sportsbook sure sees it that way. That operator lists the Lions at +135 odds to win the NFC North again in 2024, ranking ahead of the Packers (+225), Bears (+310) and Vikings (+750) in America’s heartland.
